FAQs
How can I order a flag?
Most customers come to us with a good idea of what flag or group of flags they are looking for, whether it is a Union Jack, Stars and Stripes (USA Flag), or all European Union Flags. Easy access is through the Navigation bar to the left. Once you have found the product, we will list the sizes and material. All you have to do is select the one you want and add to your shopping cart. As each item is added, a running total appears in the 'SHOPPING CART' section on the right hand side. Once you have selected your flags, click the 'check out' button to complete your purchase.
How do I order more than one of the same flag?
As you go through the check out procedure, there is a section that allows you to state the quantity of each product you are selecting. Don't forget that having put in the required quantitiy you need to recalculate the price by clicking on the "UPDATE" button.
What size flag should I buy?
If your flag is to be flown from a flagpole, which is sited in the ground, the yardstick is - for every 10' of height of the pole, a yard (3' or 90 cms) of flag should be flying out
i.e 15' high pole - 1.5 yard (4' 6" or 135 cms) flag
20' high pole - 2 yard (6' or 180 cms) flag
The size of flags to be flown from angled flagpoles off the sides of buildings has become a case of whatever the flagpole will stand in terms of stress and strain due to a desire to display as large a flag as possible. If in any doubt, please contact us for advice.
How big is that?
Here is a conversion table that will help you determine the size of flag you require:
| Flag Name | Imperial | Metric |
|---|---|---|
18" X 9" |
18ins x 9ins |
45.7cm X 22.9cm |
My Flag is faulty, can I return it?
You have the right to return a faulty item within a reasonable period of time. In the unlikely event that you do receive a faulty item, please contact our support department within 24 hours for advice and procedures. Please keep all original paperwork that accompanies your item as this will be needed should there be a fault.
NB: By their very nature flags are perishable items. Budget flags are designed for light weight usage such as hanging indoors for a special occasion or for waving at a football match - but from a flagpole in all weathers/windspeeds, don't expect it to remain in one piece for too long! All flags degrade over time. Colourfast flags will, eventually, fade. Durable outdoor flags will, eventually, be ripped to shreds by the elements. Even the strongest flag will not survive long if being flown in wet weather and high winds.
My flag was damaged when it arrived?
If you take delivery of a Flagmakers.co.uk package and the contents have been damaged in transit, you can return the item(s) to us within a reasonable period of time for exchange. However, you must phone us immediately to register the problem and make us aware of the situation and to discuss returning your goods. Please also remember to keep all packaging and documentation.
