Royal British Legion Conference 2016

Another year… another brilliant conference! Flagmakers as ever sends thanks to the Royal British Legion for kindly inviting us to be at this year’s Eastbourne event. The venue at Eastbourne was a stunning old theatre building making it even more of a pleasure to exhibit at the event.

This year felt particularly poignant with the vote on whether the Women’s Section could continue to operate. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief when the decision was passed to keep the Women’s Section. Myself and Amy enjoyed the conference weekend, it is always a wonderful opportunity to put names to faces and see the standards in action!

The parade has to be our favourite part of the weekend, it can be quite rare we get the opportunity to see the standards on parade so it always fills us with great pride when to see the standards fluttering in the breeze.

I returned to the office on Monday feeling a little sluggish after the busy RBL weekend… only to find a lovely email which perked me right up. Mr Williams, the secretary at Newbury Branch, wrote “Newbury standard received thank you. Will you please thank your staff for the wonderful workmanship and the excellent service we have received from your company, we will have no problem recommending you to other Branches of the RBL.” It’s those kind words that keep us so passionate about what we do!

All that’s left to say is we’ll see you next year… I believe we’ll be back in Southport next time. Best wishes to all involved with the Royal British Legion. Enjoy the upcoming ceremonies and keep those standards in their usual impeccable condition.
