As part of our work with the UK Parliament to create the fantastic Parliament Square display for the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, we are showcasing each of the flags created by school children from throughout the country. This flag design comes from Duncton Junior School, Sussex.

“We are a small rural school nestled at the foot of the South Downs within the heart of our constituency. Therefore, the enviornment plays a huge part in our learning. We are a Forest School and this pins our whole curriculum.
Our winning design, carefully selected through a democratic voting process, clearly represents what we stand for as a school, and our stunning location within our constituency. We feel strongly that this flag also represents our constituency perfectly.
Daisy, the winning flag designer, explained that the ash leaf demonstrated our commitment to Forest School and the enviornment, and that the bold contrasting colours illustrated the importance of the earth (burgundy) and the sun (citron yellow).
We are extremely proud of our flag design and we look foward to seeing it amongst all the other flags from schools across the country.”
