As part of our work with the UK Parliament to create the fantastic Parliament Square display for the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, we are showcasing each of the flags created by school children from throughout the country. This flag design comes from Holly Spring Junior School, Berkshire.

“Our design was inspired by our school community, which is why we chose our school colours for the flag. Our school is located near Lily Hill Park which we often get to visit and frequently helps to facilitate our learning.
For instance, Year 3 went to look at different habitats and the whole school recently had the opportunity to plant some bulbs with the Park Rangers. In the park and around our wider community we often spot a range of wildlife, especially squirrels.
After sketching different wildlife we decided that a squirrel would form our emblem on our flag. We feel that our flag represents not only our school but our whole town and community. People involved in the project include: Roisin, Anya, Alysia, Grace, Lexi, Louie and Amelie.”
