Brazil

The Brazil flag was introduced in November 1889 shortly after the Proclamation of the Republic. The flag features a midnight blue coloured circle depicting a starry-night sky, which is placed on a yellow rhombus and then a green background. The blue disc in the middle includes a text inscription that states ‘Ordem e Progresso’, which is translated to mean ‘order and progress’.

Dye-sublimated Brazil national flags are created using our state-of-the-art textile print systems and woven polyester flag fabric in our UK manufacturing facility. Chosen for strength and durability, knitted polyester is an ideal choice for anybody looking for a good value national flag finished ready to fly from your flagpole.

The flag is finished by hand with a headband rope and toggle as standard, ready to attach directly to a flagpole. The three exposed sides of the flag are finished with a strong double hem and a triple sewn hem on the fly edge for extra durability.

Flag Design

The colours used in the Brazil flag were each chosen with meaning. The green and yellow are a gesture to the previous national flag, in which those colours were chosen to honour the first Emperor and Empress of Brazil. The sky in the centre of the flag was chosen to represent the sky over one of Brazil’s largest cities, Rio de Janeiro. The stars featured are based on constellations and shown as they would be on a celestial globe.
