“I have attached the flag image representing our area of Dorset. The children decided to use the green to represent the large amount of countryside we have, with a symbolic butterfly to show the wildlife living in the fields.

The yellow stripe represents all our sandy beaches, the blue is the sea, with the dolphin reminding us of the wildlife that lives in the sea near us (dolphins can be seen from many vantage points across our region). The white and grey represent the cliffs at the edge of the beaches, which are of course very important to us as they are the key to us being the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast.”
